Beach Huts Consultation
Beach Huts have been a prominent feature on Hove seafront for many years. Our aim is to review and update the current specification to allow more individual choice in the appearance your hut. The size of your doors can affect the stability of the hut. A smaller half size door as pictured may provide you with a more robust build.
The key areas we are looking at changing are:
- The doors of the hut – size and style for improved strength, and paint design
- Temporary change of appearance permit
The Key Areas that will not change are:
- Maintenance of the beach hut on an annual basis.
- The roof and upper and lower sides of the hut must still be painted in the traditional specified colours
- The hut must kept to the current dimensions of 1.83m (6ft) wide X 1.83m (6ft) deep with ridge roof height of 2.46m (8.1ft)
- Doors must open inwards
