Ovingdean Conservation Area Review - Second Phase
A second phase of consultation is now being undertaken on a review of Ovingdean Conservation Area.
Consultation was previously held in August and September 2011. The response was generally supportive of conserving the special character of the historic village. Some respondents provided useful extra historic information, minor amendments and corrections. The main topics raised were traffic, the Article 4(1) Direction and the boundary review.
In light of the response to consultation, the proposed conservation area boundary has been revised to include the farms area to the north and allotments to the south.
The revised boundary proposal, character statement and a web guide to the Article 4 Direction can be viewed here: http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/index.cfm?request=c1175571 Hard copies are also available for inspection at the City Direct Offices at Hove Town Hall and Bartholomew House, and at Rottingdean Library.
Comments are invited on the revised boundary proposal and on the Article 4 Direction, to be submitted by: Sunday 25th March 2012.
Please send your comments by e-mail to conservation@brighton-hove.gov.uk or in writing to: Heritage Team, Room 414, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ.
